Virtual Power Plant Companies & Programs Directory

51 curated VPPs, demand response programs, DER aggregators, and watchlist profiles across U.S. power markets.

Public beta: capacity, status, territory, and market claims now show separate evidence outcomes. Capacity figures carry an explicit basis and are only ranked within like-for-like groups.

How to compare virtual power plant companies

Start with your project state, utility territory and customer type. A residential battery program, a commercial demand response aggregator and a VPP software platform serve different needs. Use the filters below to build a relevant shortlist.

Which type of VPP provider do I need?
Aggregator or operator
Coordinates flexible devices or load and delivers grid services. Confirm dispatch obligations, equipment compatibility and available programs.
Software platform
Provides DERMS or VPP orchestration tools. Confirm integrations, telemetry and who operates the assets or participates in the market.
Utility program
Defines local enrollment and performance rules. Check the utility territory, eligible equipment and current terms before applying.

Compare profiles using their source dates and capacity basis. Managed portfolio MW, event dispatch MW and announced targets measure different things. A state tag helps discovery; the provider or utility must confirm eligibility for your specific site.

Use Compare on two to four profiles for a side-by-side view. Have a project ready? Send a capacity brief to VPPdirectory for review and possible provider introductions.
