How the program works

ConnectedSolutions pays for average measured battery output during called summer events. Massachusetts standard battery terms publish $275 per kW of average seasonal performance. Tesla lists $225 per kW for Eversource New Hampshire and Rhode Island Energy; its customer share is 80% of the listed utility incentive. These are alternative utility rates, not payments to add together.

This guide focuses on residential batteries. Commercial demand-response terms and special ConnectedSolutions+ offers differ. Tesla says Connecticut ConnectedSolutions is closed to new enrollment and directs new customers to Energy Storage Solutions. Do not assume the same rate, enrollment status or contract applies across New England.

Who qualifies

  • A supported battery and eligible residential electric account in a participating utility territory. A state address alone is insufficient.
  • Approval by the utility and a participating manufacturer or aggregator. Enrollment windows and device lists can change.
  • Ability to meet dispatch requirements after backup reserve settings. Tesla describes up to 60 summer events between June 1 and September 30.

How to enroll

Ask your battery manufacturer or installer which utility program they enroll in, then confirm the pass-through amount, the event window, and how much reserve capacity they leave for your own backup needs.

Questions buyers ask

Is $275/kW paid to every ConnectedSolutions customer?

No. That is the standard Massachusetts summer rate for average measured performance. Other utilities, grandfathered contracts, special offers and provider fees can change the payout.

Can new Connecticut customers join ConnectedSolutions?

Tesla says Connecticut ConnectedSolutions is no longer accepting new enrollment and points customers to Connecticut Energy Storage Solutions. Confirm current eligibility with the administrator.

Are summer and winter payments added in this calculator?

No. The calculator models a single identified summer battery rate. This guide does not substantiate a universal winter battery payment.
